iphone query please.
Hi
I have a contract with Vodafone, 300 mins, u/l texts and unlimited internet. My query is if i bought a iphone unlocked could i put my sim in and use the iphone under this contract, also if that is possible, can i connect the iphone to my home wireless network or is there any charges,if someone can explain this as a friend said you have to have a special plan but if i have internet i don't see why. When i took my contract out with Vodafone i told them i didn't want the phone they were giving, they told me to sell it and put it in my own phone, didn't say what phone that i could or couldn't use.Im confused.Any help would be appreciated as i just do not under stand the charges incurred by using a iphone.Thanks.

Yes, should be fine as long as the iPhone is unlocked.
You can use the WiFi at your home just fine.
Note that because you've got Unlimited Internet on your contract already, you won't incur any charges using the iPhone not on WiFi.
If you go around the Vodafone website, you can get them to send settings to your iPhone (once you've put the SIM in) for the Internet and MMS Messages. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Thanks Bowling For Gold for your reply, i was just worried that i would occur more charges on my contract, mins and texts are fine for me,i was just unsure that somewhere i would get caught for paying extra somewhere or get told by Vodafone that my contract is not suitable for the iphone. Regards to the wireless internet at home i assume that will go on my isp limit which is unlimited, but what would happen if i connect to a another wifi connection, which i think i would have to agree to connect to, internet on a phone and wifi what is the difference please, i just wondered if i had to leave the wifi turned off all the time or turn 3g off all the time, whats the best solution.
Lol , getting paranoid about extra charges on top of contract or Vodafone getting funny about me using the contract for the iphone.

Not too worry, it is confusing lol.
Yep, if you connect to the Wireless INternet (WiFi) at your house, all surfing you will do will come off your ISP's limit (which you've said is unlimited, so should be fine). If you use WiFi anywhere else (Mc Donalds, Starbucks etc), you will be using their connection, so you won't be using up your mobile contract internet.
If you are not connected to a WiFi network, you will be using the Mobile Internet included in your contract. If your contract includes 'Unlimited Internet', you will be fine, and won't get any charges.
It's best to use WiFi normally, as it offers faster speeds, and guaranteed service. Some places this is not possible, e.g. on the train, in the office etc so using the Mobile Internet will be fine.
I recommend you make sure your contract definately has Unlimited Internet first, to avoid any charges. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
