Just a quick update...
We sent a letter in last week about all the problems we have had with them, and explaining we were not happy and were considering cancelling ~ OH received a phone call this morning.
No apologies from the person he spoke to, and she said that we could have the larger/better room for our ceremony if that's what we were after??
If she had READ the letter, she would have seen that we have already booked now to get married at the reg office and it was HER who said we could have our notice fees knocked off the balance because we had to give notice again, so what the chuff is she on about??!!
Not happy at all, so we're going for a meeting next Monday morning at 9am.
Are they totally THICK or what???Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I think so!! Maybe you could get her to offer you a bigger discount and the bigger room for your reception?! She obviously can't remember what she has said before!!0 -
i would personally scrap the venue and advise anyone thinking of getting married there not to, also you can put a poor review on tripadvisor if it is a hotel listed on there, the only problem would be your deposit fees which i have no doubt that they're non-refundable0

We're not spending a lot with them, this is what we pointed out in the letter too, that we feel because we're not spending thousands, our booking is not being treated as thouroughly as a couples would be if they were spending a lot.
I like what we've been offered for the evening, so does OH.
If they can tell us now that we can have the nicer room for the ceremony, why did they tell us that we would have to wait until July?!
All we want is an apology and a guarantee that they won't make stupid mistakes and lie to us like they already have done.
The problem is that there are too many cooks. One doesn't know what the other is doing and there are no apologies because 'so and so should have done that', so whoever we ask about the problems don't have to apologise for them. :cool:deano23285 wrote: »i would personally scrap the venue and advise anyone thinking of getting married there not to, also you can put a poor review on tripadvisor if it is a hotel listed on there, the only problem would be your deposit fees which i have no doubt that they're non-refundable
They would say the deposit is non refundable, but with the hassle we've had from them, I think we're entitled to everything back.
It is a hotel, so I could leave reviews on tripadvisor and also all the wedding sites and forums.
I'll see what happens on Monday, but I'm really not bothered either way now.
Even if we did cancel, I think we'd just have a meal in a restaurant after the ceremony and then go home.
So long as we're married (and go for our honeymoon on the Monday!) that's all that matters.
Really can't be doing with chasing people up and pointing things out to them when we're paying them for their service! :cool:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
its only complaints and cancellations that they'll take any notice of their problems, sounds like a new manager is needed there.
going anywhere nice for the honeymoon?
actually is there a honeymoon thread on here??0 -

New manager? Tell me about it lol!
We're only going to Lanzarote, we've been twice already and this is the last time for a long time where just the 2 of us will get to go.
There should be a honeymoon thread on here, actually I think there are 2 or 3 of them! xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
They do sound like utter morons!!

What a bunch of t!ts!
How frustrating! I would be saying that you want ONE and ONLY ONE of the idiots in charge so that they are accountable. When people are held to account they tend to buck their ideas up.0 -
Hi Hun,
I am now telling everyone about the Village and how they're treating you!
You could contact other venues and see what they can offer to use as leverage, my daughter's friend booked the Hillbark last minute and got all sorts of deals thrown at her it went from really not affordable to a really good deal in no time!
I know it would be a hassle changing your venue but if you can throw examples at them it would show them that you're so unhappy you've been shopping around and may entice them to sit up and listen to you.
Good luck hunny - by the way the flowers in the square are looking gorgeous, you'll get some lovely pics there!

Aww hiya and thanks!
We did go to see somewhere else last week, so could change to there. We'll mention this at the meeting on Monday.
We really don't want to cancel, but if they don't apologise and guarantee they won't mess up again, it looks like we'll have to
At least the ceremony will go without a hitch ~ well fingers crossed anyway knowing our luck lol! xxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
