O2 calls to Channel Islands, help??

Wondered if you lovely lot could help a friend clear up a problem.
He is looking at a new O2 contract and calls Jersey a lot, the 'man in the shop' claims these calls are included in the 'free' minutes, however as most other operaters class these calls as 'international' so he is concerned that this may not actually be the case, an email from customer service (in very odd english) doesn't actually seem to clarify this at all!

By the looks of the replies on that thread, they would be classed as international calls.

Hi OneADay, thanks for the links! He has been told by 'the shop' they are included and also the email from O2 themselves seems to also suggest they are included, however he had looked at the O2 site as you linked which says they are 'international' so we wondered whether the information was wrong or out of date and he could get them included on the tariff.

Inclusive minutes on O2 Pay Monthly tariffs can only normally be used for calls made in the UK to:

• UK landlines (starting 01, 02 or 03); and
• numbers allocated to UK mobile network operators that provide mobile services with substantial national coverage (this currently includes the five major operators O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and 3, and providers such as Virgin Mobile, Tesco Mobile and BT Fusion),

They definitely dont include calls to non-standard or "special" 07 numbers (all those 07 numbers that are not specifically included in your inclusive minutes, including 07 numbers allocated to network operators in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man), which are charged at 25p per minute, except Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man numbers which are charged at 20p per minute.

Jersey is not part of the United Kingdom, it is a Crown Dependency, which gives it an entirely different legal status. Therefore calls from the UK will be classed as international.
