What's the address of the site it tells you to go to?
It sounds very much like a phishing site.0 -
this is real, i got one and e mailed inland revenue i thought it was spoof, inland revenue say it is real but this company charge you. go straight to hmrc and claim any tax back you are due for your self (if you are owed any)0

No I haven't received one but be very wary!! I cannot recall where specifically but I have in the past couple of months read a warning about such emails supposedly from HM Revenue where you have to fill in your bank details online.......!!!!! need I say more!!!
Best bet give them(HM Rev) a call but I am sure that you will find it is a scam.0 -
I think this is the address but ive not gone to it as im worried what it may do to my comp ?(tndrftnpcb@aol.com)0

It's a scam. I was offered a refund for more tax than I'd paid. HM revenue do not send out e-mails.
Give HM revenue a ring if you believe you are due a rebate do not reply to the e-mail.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

The key question: do you actually think you are due a tax refund?
I've had countless of these scam emails - often to dormant email accounts that I would not have used in respect of dealings with HMRC. As others have said, they are phishing.
HMRC would write to you.0 -

I'm sorry but you cannot say that this is real without seeing the particular email!
The fact that it is from an aol account (do HMRC use AOL?????) and the fact that HMRC would write via post only reinforce this.
ANd how would any legitimate company obtain details from HMRC? There is this law called the Data Protection Act 1998 that stops that sort of thing...0
