I used the radio/alarm today, as a newbie to DAB i was getting really annoyed that it kept switching over to another station randomly 30 mins into listening. It wasn't scanning or loosing its signal, and then it just kept switching off! Never had this problem with the old fashioned types.
Having read some of the reviews i don't think I'll be phoning M&S, but will feel really gutted if this is a crappy radio. :(
    Anyone else have this problem?
  • yep. rang them today as mine's doing the same. apparently a few other people have had this problem and it's part of a bad batch, but they said they would replace it.

Thanks for that, i thought i had (most probably) set it up wrong...
Did you call the store or customer services, and how will they replace if its OOS?
I'm thinking about persevering with it as i really like it and hope it fixes itself. I've switched the alarm funtcion off so it doesn't keep getting confused, i'm assuming it can't multi-task!

:o Well, I'm REALLY having a senior moment .... I've collected my DAB radio, but can someone please tell me what I am supposed to do with the aerial (no rude answers!!) which, as far as I can see, is just a piece of cable that splits into two at the end, and attached to each of these 'run offs' is a small, plastic part with a 'Polo'-shaped piece attached.

I know I've had my current radio alarm clock for a long, long time, but I have never seen an aerial like this before!

    TIA
    If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!
  • Suzy,

As with any aerial, it should ideally be as high as possible, with the two ends (polos) at opposite ends of a 'T' shape, with the lead to the radio at the bottom of the 'T' (if that makes sense ?).

Reality is that you move it around, however you need, to get a strong signal, on all stations, and then leave it there. you know when it is right, because the signal doesn't break up at any time. Try where it is convenient for now, and see how it goes.

On your old one, you probably just had a single wire, the DAB radio has a 'proper' aerial, that is all. Also don't worry, we all have those moments ;)

:T Thanks, Reg! I shall go and find out the old Blu Tak and have a go.

I had actually thought that might be what was expected (honestly!), but then thought 'naaaaaa ... too fiddly; must be a more sophisticated method for the 21st century'. Just goes to show, hey.

(Many thanks for the quick response).

I have a soundbar sitting in my hall. I havent opened it yet because on the invoice it states if I open the box I cannot take it back for refund if not to my liking. Beginning to think you are right.

The label is for items purchased in store. Under the DSR you are allowed to examine goods before deciding whether to reject them or not.

I am returning the sound bar because it is far bigger and heavier than I expected (I have no concept of size!), and just looks a bit ... cheap?
    Gone ... or have I?

For anyone wishing to return the sound bar, you need to call them to collect it (free of charge). It is too heavy to go by post ... As I found out this morning lugging it to the Post Office and home again!
