The "Set up" you see sounds like the BIOS. You should not normally need to go into the BIOS, as changing settings here can easily mess up your system.

You mention that the clock is reset, this sounds like the CMOS battery on your computer has died. It is easily replaced, but involved opening the case and removing the old CMOS battery and installing a new one. If you are not confident with doing this you may be better taking it to a pc repair shop, as a borked motherboard will be expensive to replace.

The certificate errors are probably being caused by the incorrect date/time.

Regarding the screen flickering, could you post more details on this. It again could be caused by the dead CMOS battery, but could be something else.

    Hope this helps,

Also, how the hell did everyone beat me to it.

It is ok when clock is set right so hopefuly when replacing that it stays ok!! BUT it is a new monitor so will have to re-read if settings are ok etc
    thanks

Unlikely that it's still in warranty if the CMOS battery has failed. I'm guessing at least 3 years old.

Not necessarily, I remember a few years ago that Dell sold loads of computers to schools, and a batch of them failed after a few months, due to something wrong with the CMOS battery. I agree that it is unlikely to still be in warranty, but always find it better to err on the side of caution, because it's easy to forget these things.

Let us know, because I am unsure why this would be happening, I do not know of any obvious reason that the clock would affect the output to your monitor.

If it's unrelated to the CMOS battery then it would flicker all the time if faulty or set to wrong res.
Change the battery first and then see what happens, you need to sort the battery regardless.

You probably need to put on the graphics card driver to stop the screen flickering (Another possibly is you need to go into BIOS again and put the correct settings in for the graphics to work properly)

Assuming you mean the BIOS ~ really depends on your graphics card. AGP? Whatever it is you need to set to allow that type of graphics and turn off the onboard graphics (This is also assuming you actually HAVE a graphics card)

If you mean via windows, then WINDOWS UPDATE sometimes has drivers for them
