I'm going to be on holiday in Ballater during the summer having checked the braodband coverage on all the sites it appears there is no mobile (3G) coverage.
Can anyone confirm this or if you can get civerage through what network?

As you guessed they are lying!
There is mobile broadband coverage in Aberdeen only 45 miles away.
With some luck you will get a mobile phone signal in Ballater but it will be very patchy. 3G, they've heard of it!0
