Texted a Wrong Premium number in error - want money back
Options
Hi - I texted a wrong number and the company have charged me £5. The message was not the required text they needed (I checked their website) but my text still went through and they have now charged me. I emailed to ask for a refund but they have not replied - does anyone know where I stand - or is there a policy - surely I'm not the only one this has happened to!

You chose to text the number. It you rang a wrong number would you expect a refund?Gone ... or have I?0

Some of the numbers used are shared across a range of services, and use a keyword prefix in the message.
If this was one of those, and if you've put the wrong first word, the number provider will have the money, but not necessarily be able to identify who it was intended for. And the service you've sent a message to may not know what you mean
I'd look up the number on the Phonepayplus website and use the contact details there. It may be the same as what you already have, but it could be useful if this service was on a shared number0
