Thanks for the new thread Pink :A

I'm still following my plan to use up stock, so I've only been buying milk, f&v, dairy and bread; not sure how I'm doing on my annual target, will try to have a sort out over the next few days.

Welcome to our newbies and good luck to everyone for the month

I cant believe we're up to may already

  • Mmmmm lovely new thread :D Thanks Mrs M, Pink-winged and Rosieben for all you do to keep us organised.

MRS M please put me down for my usual £250 for May

Not intending to cut the budget this year, just work at being inside it!! It seems to me it's getting ever more difficult. All spare money rolls over to my stockpile fund for buying unmissable bargains that don't fit into the month. It is growing but very slooowly lol. Hope that it'll grow more this month as the meal plan uses mainly meat and fish from the freezer.

Can I join, for the first time ever? If you could put me down for £120 for the two of us that would be fantastic! It will be my first time really working to get the spend under control, so here we go...

Ooh but I love a shiny new thread. Thanks to the usual suspects for all the hard work.

I have quite a few things in the freezer to keep us going but I have spent £14.65 today. I didn't get much in the way of real food, mainly packing up stuff and treats, but did get branston beans on offer for £1 for 4 (A$da).

Please can I try for £400 for May? April's gone awful, but we've all had a long chat about money saving, etc., & rest of family willing to try as well, & not complain about carp meals (their opinion, not mine!), so more hopeful about May & rest of year!
Will pop back soon, & make a real effort - savings bein nibbled at now, which I hate, so belt-tightening starts tomorrow lol!!

Managed to go over on my April budget by just €3.03 so hopefully can spend that much less in May. I see that you have already added my €160 for this month Mrs MC, thanks.

I crashed and burned in March due to builders causing havoc in my house. However, I'm back with my own personal challenge. I have asked for a career break from work so that I can be a stay at home mum for the next 5 years, starting from September. In order to prove to myself that this is viable, I need to stick to fairly strict budget until then. I also need to use up as much stuff out of the freezer as possible as the kitchen floor is being dug up in June......

My budget for May is £35 a week, total £140.00 for the 4 week month. I can do this, I can do this :rotfl:
