Hi everyone - sorry I've been MIA again this last month but I did keep up to date with all your Posts - well done everyone.

Many thanks to MRSMC & pink-winged and Rosieben for keeping us going on the straight and narrow and starting up the new Thread for May. MRSMC please put me down for £250 for May.

Got everything going agin in the Greenhouse ready to plant up and I also have an allotment now so hoping to save on the GC as things start to take off later in the year - already picked my first radishes to have in a salad tonight - it's a small start but as they say, every little helps.:o

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend.;)

  • Hi everyone,

well, receipts are now all gathered where they belong and sig is updated:j so all up to date.

Went shops with my sister today and actually got what we need, plus a small £5.50 spend in I£eland on two half price bags of 6 salmon fillets-£2 each:j and three bags of frozen veg for 50p each so happy bunny me. I somehow ended up paying for my sisters shopping too, as I had a £3 off a £20 spend cc voucher from Mr T so put her stuff with mine and got a whole quid back off her! Hmm..methinks i was ripped off somewhere, good job i love her!

I also got from Mr T a pair of silent night luxury pillows, dh has been telling me to get pillows for months (why he couldnt go and get some i dont know!), and these were a bargain-cost me £6 instead of £16! Great reduction!

Finally, went to Mr M for meat, and got a whole turkey leg which are lovely slow cooked and only £3.49, some lambs liver and some beef mince-total £6.97. I was aiming to get my freezer contents down but ive changed my mind as we are having changes to our finances/work situation soon and want to keep my freezer stocked up for if things get tight, which is highly likely, so we have something to 'fall back on'. So at present im working on a monthly budget cos thats how i am paid, but doing shopping weekly and just getting what we need for the week. I think i may have bought too much meat for the week really, as the whole turkey leg is huge, and will easily do 2-3 days, but i do have a tiny bit of freezer space i can use.

Right, off to catch up with OS, good night x

    Hi all,

have never done a challenge here before so here goes!

We are a family of 4, hubby, me and 2 girls (one in nappies but only night time).

I have no idea what I spend on grocceries, I have never counted or bugeted before so I'd be interested to find out and try to save more by leaning to be a better cook and prepare and freeze etc!

Could you out me down for £250 in May please!!!!

    Thanks so much!!!

I think i've spent bang on £10.00 today, but some bits I put with my sisters shopping and gave her the money, so I have no receipt to check. I think it was £1.86 in Wilkinsons on washing up liquid and body spray.

It was £8.14 in Farmfoods on toilet rolls, vegetable bakes, sliced chicken breast, fish pieces, onions and teacakes :o The fish and veggie bakes will do 10 meals so not bad really. Only been in there once before and was quite impressed with what they have in there.
