Orange Mobile Phone 3G Delays / Issues
Hi all,
This is my first post on here, however, here goes!
For the past 18 months on both this and my previous contract with them myself and other people i know on Orange, all experience the same problems. Not being able to make calls, getting "missed" call texts when sat looking at the phone with full signal, text message delays up to about 5 hours at any time of the day year etc! All of these are with the phone showing full signal.
I have recently renewed my pay monthly contract with Orange and upgraded to a HTC Hero one of the fairly recent "Smartphones".
These basically depend on a fast internet, 3G, connection as it constantly syncs with Facebook, Twitter, emails etc.
I had the same problem on the previous contract with them and their "solution" was to change the network settings to use only 2G networks. I reported this to them around 18 months ago, which for that phone i did not have a problem with as I rarely used the internet on it.
This phone however it is just a nightmare as I can't depend on it at all, their "solution", still the same change it to 2G only. This is not a solution it is a cop out on their part. According to a few forums around it is down to Orange's 3G servers not being upgraded to keep up with demand.
I'm paying for a service that is just not being provided, I'm paying for the use of a "Smartphone" which can't be used as it's supposed to be, the difference between 2G and 3G is the difference between dial-up internet and broadband.
I basically want to know where i stand legally, as the service they are providing is not what it is supposed to be. It is not just our area, so not a problem with a single mast etc, forums report this issue country wide.
I don't mind staying with them, i have been with them for 6 years in all, however this is coming to a head now and i'm sick and tired of no useful responses from Orange.
I think all of the Support people know about the issue but they are not allowed or being told what the real underlying issue is. No other provider has this continual problem so why do they?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated, and i apologise for the long rant!
Thanks in advance!
