Most permanent solution to the dandelion in lawns problem I've found is to remove it with a bulb planter then sprinkle a good pinch of Deep Root or Root Out in to the hole before filling with 'clean soil'.

The bulb planter removes a plug of soil surrounding the root so less likely to leave any broken bits behind. Best done when the lawns are damp - even wet, so you can get a good deep plug and the root is less likely to snap off.

Smaller weeds can be tackled with a daisy grubber - again when damp or wet.

Our lawns used to be covered in daisies but i removed each and every one by the roots about 4 years ago and only now need amop up every now and then when the odd few decide to have a go again.

The daisies just strangled the grass and the lawn looks much healthier now.
