Reduce the cost of your BT broadband

Hi,
I was in the process of moving broadband providers from BT and was surprised they tried to negotiate a price reduction to encourage me to stay.
If you are a BT Broadband customer and you phone them on 0800 800 030 ask them for you MAC KEY (A number you need to change broadband providers).
They will ask why you are leaving, if you are unhappy etc. then offer you a better deal to stay.
I got a £3 per month reduction and an increase in linespeed from 2MB to 8MB.
My friend got a £3 per month reduction, increase in linespeed from 2MB to 8MB, and a free wireless router.
As nothing is for nothing, you may have to sign up for a 12 month contract but if your happy to stay with them then its worth a phone call.
