Life threatening plants in my garden!

  • I don't have a garden, only a balcony, but I have Aloes, Cyclamen, Daffodils, Dracaena, Ivy, Hyacinth, Iris, Kalanchoe, Lobelia, Lily of the Valley, Lillies in vases, Onion,Philodendron, Tulips and my sister used to have a 15' high Cheeseplant.

So what does the cat eat when she has so many choices of ways to poison herself? Mint and Beanstalk leaves. [wondered if that meant the minty freshness of her f-rts would grow and grow and grow, but that could just be me :D]

OK, dogs tend not to have quite the same mental powers as the common or garden moggie, but they still tend towards the less terminal side of garden cuisine. The only thing I would definitely do is ensure that any yew branches aren't within chomping height.

The usual reaction to anything dodgy for a dog is to hurl it straight back up again. Obviously, this isn't saying don't be careful, but it isn't the terror laden garden of doom some internet sites would have you believe.

Relaxed but vigilant is the best attitude - if pup develops an interest in something unhealthy, maybe consider moving it, but the number one rule of pet ownership is -

When all is quiet, calm and peaceful - they're up to something. :D
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
