Payment Not Recieved???????

Sold an item on the 5th August and the buyer marked payment as sent on the 8th so far i have still not recieved his payment.
Was going to give it a few more days then try and contact him again to see if he still wanted the item, then this morning i got a message which came across as rather demanding simply stating
'wheres my dvd its not like i havent paid'
i have sent a message back asking him to confirm when he sent payment and what method of payment he used and told him that i as yet i have not recieved it.
What happens now? Can he do a non performing seller even though i havent recieved payment? Do i open a NPB dispute? (obviously i wont do so until i have had a reply back from him just incase he has overlooked it and not sent it in error) Is there anything i need to do to cover myself?
His feedback is 20 100% - so by the looks of things i dont think he has done this before, so it may well be that he has either forgotten to send it and thought that he had or it has gone missing in the post.
Advice appreciated as always!

I would wait to see what he replies with to your email and if that is unsattisfactory then do a NPB on them.
That email ''wheres my dvd its not like i havent paid'' doesn't sound right. If it were me i'd say: have you received payment yet and can you confirm when you are sending the dvd. Sounds like the buyer hasn't sent payment, but then, i am pessimistic.

what method of payment is he supposed to have paid by? Do you take other methods other than paypal?
If you open a NPB he would have to reply to that and for it to close before he tries anything but what it comes down to is where the payment is.
I would wait and see what he comes back saying!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Wait for reply (24 hours from your answer) and then send NPB. Do not wait for him to merss you around. As was pointed out the tone was all wrong give no quarter here.0

The auction stated postal order or bankers draft though saying that i have had people sending cash and cheques aswell  (whole idea was what with just having the baby i was hoping if they used postal orders i could get it sent off straight away as the post office is only 2mins away) So it would be one of those methods of payment im guessing

Have still not had any contact back from the buyer and i replied to him within minutes of him sending me the message as i was online.
It would be highly unlikely for him to go down the route with ebay with item not recieved as it is going to cost him more money in the long run it only totalled to £8.50 including the p&p.
Thanks for all your help as always
will see if he responds and then open NPB tomorrow afternoon The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

Update:
I opened a NPB on monday after the post had been and there was still no payment. He has this afternoon decided to respond to the dispute with:
'send me ya email address n il pay by paypal'
The auction stated postal order/bankers draft only where do i stand if i say no to paypal?
Im finding it all very odd considering he had 'apparently' already paid yet was willing to pay again.
Not forgetting that this is the item that was sent out by mistake to another TSFE'er who now wont send it back, so ideally i would like a way to get out of it if possible rather than getting a NPS.
Any suggestions? The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

i'd either explain to the buyer what has happened and hope he/she is understanding and it ok with it ......... or .........take the money via paypal then when he/she says its not been received, refund money and say you'll claim from RM :whistle:Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

its more the fact that the messages that i have recieved from him from the beginning dont seem quite right and there has been a complete lack of communication with him too.
im just wondering if i can hold out a day or so before replying to the dispute and then saying that the listing stated postal order/bankers draft only therefore im not willing to accept paypal then with him on average taking 3/4 days to respond i could then close the dispute saying that im not willing to wait for the buyer any longer?
Would that work? The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

Personally, I would close the dispute now on the basis that buyer has delayed payment and now wishes to pay by an unacceptable means. You risk a neg, but frankly it sounds like you risk that with this buyer whatever you do.
I wouldn't go down the 'pretending it is lost' route, far too messy and just prolongs the agony.
