I don't know if it's been suggested before or not, but i've been wondering, if it would be a good idea to introduce a "support" board (note - i place the term "support" in speechmarks, on the understanding that it would be "support" from your fellow MSE-er's, and NOT moderated?)
I know in this nanny-state in which we live, it may seem like an afront, to allow people to express themselves, and I fully admit to being genuinely naive and stupid, but i wonder, if the rules are made abosuletely clear, about the new board, from the outset, at least we might have a chance?
For example, make it a board, for posters who've made at least 50 posts or more. (i know that probably rules out half the people that might want to post, but why not make it available to genuine MSE posters? on the PROVISO that the board is NOT MODERATED and is a SUPPORT BOARD?
(don't worry - i can already see the flaws in my suggestion, but i just wanna throw it into the mix.
I guess, the main issue is MODERATION - i do believe that people can moderate themselves, but I understand, that when commercial interests are involved, that is the least of their worries!

Support for emotional issues? If so, I think it has been mooted before, and the response was that this is primarily a moneysaving site.
TBH I think the Families board acts as a bit of a support board?Gone ... or have I?0 -
If you want to see the consequences of unmoderated boards, go to YouTube and read some of the comments. By 'Support Board', do you mean a board for psychologically challenged people seeking psychological help from other psychologically challenged people?0
