Ok, they've now removed the extra filter at the non-socket end. Hopefully that'll help!

    Cheers all.

And if they get rid of the trailing extension lead that should also improve things no end.
I would be interested to know which person 'in the know' recommended a double filter?

I guess I'm a bit late with this reply but I only just noticed the post. I'm also in Wroxall and suffer connection problems. I've been with many ISPs since Ventnor was broadband enabled, the current one being Talk Talk. The main problem is not the ISP but the distance we are from the exchange, the wire from here to the exchange I'm told is 4.5k, just boarderline to receive broadband at all.
The only answer I found is to get a good quality router, those provided by ISPs don't seem to be up to the job, mine is a Netgear DG834 and it just about hangs on without dropping the connection. The other important factor is not to let your ISP put you on too fast a "profile", best for me is about 2.5Mbit, when they try to push it up to 3.5 I suffer drops about twice or three times a day. Hope this helps.

    Thanks BoyRoger - very helpful.

They've gone for BT and been very happy with it so far.

I'll bear your comments in mind though if they have any future problems.

    Cheers
