Rang BT today, luckily in time cos contract ends tomoro.

Put the phone down very happy as got the following ...

Paper bill
£9-79 line rental with free evening and weekend calls
£15-49 option 3 broadband
unlimited broadband (subject to fair usage, we used 55meg last month  cos we asked)
engineer going to the exchange and fitting the stuff or whatever to enable us to go on the higher 20mb speed (we know we wont get 20meg speeds but at least they're bumping it up for us)

Price £25-28 per month including VAT providing we paid by direct debit :T

Not bad to say that back in January BT wanted me to start paying £47-50 by direct debit

I also got a good deal off them after threatening to switch to plusnet - we're on option 1 and had a discounted rate of £15 a month. I said plusnet was £6.50 and they promptly offered £7.50 a month.

Unfortunately meant having to renew our contract but we were stuck with them for line rental anyway (and so switching provider would lose us free evening calls).

If anyone else plans to phone them up I strongly reccommend it. I'm now wishing that I said I could get BE unlimited (okay 30gb) for £7.50 as they might have offered that!

I just emailed them asking about the two month thing - I want to find out if I effectively have unlimited for 2 in three months!

    update to this,

rang up and spoke to someone else who actioned what I'd wrote here above and was due to be activated 11 may

rang up yesterday and spoke to someone who said my bill was definitely direct debit each month at £27pm then he quoted £84, then he said no you're right, its £27 pm. Then he said that my account was in credit for £129 and put a refund through without me actually properly agreeing to it.

Then .... I emailed BT and requested confirmation of this. The reply tonight is that I'm on quarterly direct debit with no mention of a refund.

Here goes phone call number whatever .... (if they're still open).
I'm getting fed up of this now.
