Can SKY do this?

Options
First of all I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

So....I signed up with Sky broadband on the 7th April for £17 a month and a line rental as well (dont remember price of line), also a years FREE McAfee security. 7th April came and I have no router so I call them, they say it will take 14 DAYS.....(!!!!!!).

Anyway 9th April I get a call saying I was connected (still no router), so I was annoyed to say the least....long story short. They offered me £10 a month and half price line rental for a year....Excellent (:
Router came 12th and another on the 13th lol

So now I come to set the new McAfee up and it says I have it FREE for 3 months and after that I pay £3.00 a month. I call them up and they say cos I am paying £10 a month and not £17 I am not allowed 12 months free McAfee.

Are they allowed to do that?
Should I call again?

dont worry about it, Macfee isnt the best and there are free ones out there that are better, take the £7 saving and get Avira for free. Search the tech forum for advise on Macfee.

Above is correct in fact they are probably doing you a favour, you could also look at microsoft security essentials, also free.
Good luck with the Sky Connect package.

I' agree with penrhyn, there are far better out there.

Avira, Avast or MSE all free or if you are looking for a paid version Kaspersky.

    Avoid McAfee and AVG.

If you bank with Barclays, you can get Kaspersky for free. I think that it is the best around. I have used and paid for it for years, but now get it for free!
