i-phone vs nexus 1 vs HTc desire
Title says it all really! I can't decide!!
Use my phone for calls, texts, e-mail and calender mostly. Narrowed it down to one of these and am leaning torward an android rather than the i-phone.
Any comments, suggestions, information - anything about any is welcome!
Thanks

For the purposes you have stated all 3 phones will do a super job.
With respect to calling, the Nexus One has the noise cancelling microphone which improves call quality when you are in a noisy area. How useful this is depends on the conditions in which you usually make your calls. I personally find no issues making and receiving calls on my Desire, and its speakerphone is pretty loud.
I have a Desire and an iPod touch. The touchscreen keyboards on both are very responsive and OK to type on, although I still prefer a full-size computer keyboard for writing long e-mails. I cannot say conclusively that one is better than the other; certainly there are subtle differences in the precision demanded of your fingers. Both will do well for texting and e-mail.
If you are planning to use the phone as a music player primarily, the iPod app on the iPhone is a lot nicer to use than the Android one.
Of your three choices the iPhone comes with the most storage out of the box, however you cannot expand it. The Desire comes with a 4GB memory card in the box which you can replace with a larger capacity card if you so wish.
iPhone calendar is pretty good, and if you use a Mac it will sync the calendars quite nicely. It can also sync with Google calendar through the Exchange system. The Desire is capable of syncing with your Google calendar directly. I use Google calendar myself and found syncing working very well on both the Android and iPhone system. The Desire uses HTC's Sense calendar application and has a homescreen widget as well.
Google Maps now comes with navigation for Android devices, which may be useful to you, I have not tried it as I do not drive. As far as mobile phone navigation systems go, though, I think Nokia's Ovi maps is still the one to beat.
Overall I think I like the Desire's Android + HTC Sense system better than the iPhone OS. There is simply more information in immediate view thanks to the homescreen widgets, and there is a lot of customizability in the menus.0 -
The Desire gets incredibly favourable reviews and I was about to get one myself, but am now toying with the idea of the Legend as it is smaller and I find both the iphone and Desire just a bit too big to be comfortable.0

Wait till june when iPhone 4 is out then read the reviews. It's just speculation until then what it can do and how much it will cost.0

Changed my mind again - the Desire seems to do more, faster0

Go for it, the Desire is a great phone. The iPhone owners at work get very defensive when they see the Desire. I love the styling of the Legend but it seems a bit daft to buy one when the Desire has a faster processor and a bigger screen. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

Go to a phone shop and play with all three handsets. I have an iPhone and I particularly like the fact that Apple don't produce a lot of handsets so their models get the support (updated software) that some of the other brands don't. On the other hand some people don't like the closed case (cannot change battery or use a memory card), lack of multifunction (changing with OS 4), lower spec camera (should change with new model). Overall the Android phones you mention are more advanced, not least because the current iPhone is ten months old!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

look at the many videos on youtube comparing the phones. see the htc desire thread i have posted a few links on it as well. At the end of the day buying a phone is a lot down to personal choice. New models come every day, whats best today will be outdated in a few months!bubblesmoney :hello:0
