Just tried this morning and it will only let me pay off the balance owed. Is this new?

    Old card?
    What method are you using?
Why not push money in by FP/BACS?

Yeah, mine since 2007 and my mums before that I think.
Using egg's payment, always worked until yesterday but the payment screen has been changed.
    Will try that method.

Egg have responded to a message:

"We don't offer this service no more as you can't top the card up as you don't earn any interest on a positive balance."

What a pain and obviously an implication for stoozers too.

I was as well but that's a straight copy and paste job

  • Was that on an email to you ?

Terrible that Egg can't employ staff able to string a sentance together.

Thanks for your post, I'm glad I got rid of the Egg card last year.

    Wow, I'm shocked by that.
I just thought youd mis-typed it.
I'd be tempted to complain about that. I know that probably sounds pedantic but they really ought to employ people with a GCSE in English if they work on communicating with customers.

Not a mis-type, I was shocked but it's not the first time I've had a message with poor English from Egg.

  • Are citibank outsourcing their customer services ?

Normally their responses are of a high standard. However clearly those standards have slipped if this is the type of customer service they are currently supplying.

Give me Amex any day. :D
