Morning all................((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))) if you need one.......still tihinking of Ladygrim as Alan's funeral aproaches.

It looks dull but there are patches of blue, still cold though, I still have the heating on but it will go off at the end of the month.

More gardening this morning, what I thought was a paeony in the back garden is actually lovage, its roots can go down as far as the plant is tall, so its going, the patch is huge and goes through into next door. I am going to chop the leaves and stalks off and treat it with weed killer, I have found it in several other places in the garden, so it will come out.

Cauli and borc gratin for supper tonight, with new potato's and baked tomato's for supper, need to go and get it sorted before we start in the garden.

    Morning OSers!
I had an horrendeous headache yesterday so didn’t get much done. Fortunately dinner was a simple pie and chips. Should have been pie and mash, but somebody deviated from the meal plan and has consequently run out of potatoes. In fact, we’re on a bit of a low-carb diet around here at the moment as we’ve also run out of rice and pasta. I may need to go shopping!
Main goal for today is to do the meal-planning for May and sort out a shopping list. I also need to vaccuum the stairs - a job which usually gets ignored because (a) we live in a coach house and don’t have a “downstairs”, so it’s easy to just vacuum upstairs and forget the stairs… IYSWIM… and (b) Puppy-dog thinks the vaccuum cleaner is a tug toy, which is just plain dangerous when stairs are involved! He’s at daycare today though, so I can vaccuum the stairs in relative saftey (I say relative as I once fell down the stairs whilst hoovering them because I forgot I was on them and just stepped backwards. Rather silly and rather painful and not at all OS).
Lunch today is couscous salad, dinner is supposed to be spaghetti bolognaise. Hopefully OH will be able to stop on the way home and buy some spaghetti! Desert will be some of that sinful Ultimate Chocolate Cake I made…
    Love and hugs to all,
    Gxx

    Hi all,

It was lovely and sunny earlier, but gone dull now. There was an accident on the motorway which has affected the traffic here, there was still a backlog when I took the dog out half an hour ago,so hope DS1 got to work Ok.He set off before DH,and rang to say /warn he couldnt get onto the main road,so they went the otherway round. That must have been ok as DH has just rung- my oven packed up yesterday and he's managed to get a new part.

I spent all afternoon giving it all a really good clean in case s.o.had to come out,:o and got the manual out to have a read.It was only the fan oven setting that didnt work,I sussed out that there was a seperate element for that.Rang the people we got it from 3 years or so ago, they told us the suppliers went bust 3 years ago and parts are now nearly impossible to get (it was made in Italy)but she gave us a number to try.Left a message but no response,so DH took the element out to take to his electrician to test-bu88ered.Anyway,he told us a parts shop to go,they had one that would fit £28 so thats good-hopefully it'll be back working tonight.

Sorry you've been so poorly Penny .Hope things pick up soon for you all soon.

Well,I'm off to do a freezer inventory- hugs to those who need one.x

    Afternoon.

Have dyed my hair this morning, that will stop the grey starting to show for another few weeks. I'm only 34 and its depressing seeing grey hair!!

Washing machine has been on, and first load pegged out. Towels in tumble dryer (I just can't do line dried towels, they're always like cardboard).

Lunch was leftover rice from last night turned into egg fried rice with onion, pepper and mushroom. Nice and filling, and a diet friendly yoghurt for pudding!

Pen-Pin - sorry your health has been so poor recently. The thing with your sister can't help, must be a real worry for you. Your OH sounds like he has been in the wars as well, must make it all the more difficult for you as I know he is your carer. Please try and keep your chin up, you have lots of people on here thinking about you.

Hugs to MSD and Ladygrim and anyone else that needs/wants one.

    Hi all! :A

Thought it was time for me to check in again! Am trying to healthy eat, so sitting here munching on loads of fruit. Couscous and bean salad for lunch and something from the freezer for dinner (maybe soup, although it makes me want bread!)

Am currently simmering some chickpeas, so will make hoummous later for healthy snacking.

Off to the cinema tonight to see Vampire Girl V Frankenstein Girl:eek::rotfl:Was the boyfs choice, not mine, although it looks nice and gruesomley violent, so it should be fun anyway!:p:D

Bought myself a little greenhouse from poundstretchers yesterday, so need to get that sorted out today as well.

Don't think I have much else to report. Love and hugs to all :A

All that action I saw in my dreams with George, Ewen, Gerry et al seems to have done the trick ;)

Can I just say how disappointed I was to not have a George, Ewen, Hugh and any other fella type "sandwich" ;) Instead I had a pants night with DS up half the night coughing. Was awake from 5.30am so feel VERY tired.
Had fun last night with some of you ladies - was nice to turn the thread from going round in circles - sad to see it ended up being locked but hey ho.
Loving the comment of an OS orgy :rotfl:

Anyway busy day today, been to soft play, stripped beds, 2 loads of washing done and on the line. Dusted upstairs and vac-ed downstairs. Now treating myself to a surf on here before school run starts again.

Tea tonight is a makeshift I think as I feel too tired to cook anything :o

Pleased to see my sweet pepper seeds are finally germinating. My broccoli are getting a bit leggy so need to p r i c k (can't belive that word is censored!)them out ASAP. Likewise courgettes are getting bit big so need potting on too.

Penpin - Really sorry to hear your not doing so well, along with the added stress of your sister. Hugs to you and feel free to have a moan on here anytime (better out than in I say) - we're all here to listen and support you x

    Diva - Hope you're OK x

Ladygrim - Thinking of you xx

Gemma - hope the headache has gone now x

Jackieg - glad to hear the back is better. Now don't put it out again with all that strenous exercise ;)

stroppyjock - enjoy your time with your sis and BIL :)

NPM - hope your OH's scan went OK the other day xx

thread seems pretty quiet last few days - hope everyone is OK.

Have a lovely day OS or not. Hugs to those that need them :D

Afternoon gang, Hope this finds everyone well and happy.
Very quick post as I am having a nightmare of a day and as posting is on my list then at least i will have something to cross off!:rotfl:
Haven't read anything today but will do later.
Tea was nice will post the details of the pasta in the proper post(have put the packaging in the recycling so will get Mark to reach me down a new packet)
Today has not gone to plan:eek:
Have managed to do a hot wash(am now convinced that someone is sneaking in and dropping dirty washing off for me)
Have planned a couple of lessons(am still working-just about!); Lost my mobile:o resorted to ringing myself(five times):o:o:o-found it in the airing cupboard neatly folded up in the middle of a bath sheet.

Other than that I had a visit from a lovely lady, a former client. I tutored both of her children. We had a lovely chat and I was telling her about this site. Ended up doing a budget plan for her. She couldn't understand why she didn't have much left over at the end of the month despite both her and her husband having great jobs. We soon found out though!:rotfl:

She was amazed that my (admittedly very old )TV still worked after the changeover. They had bought brand new TV's for switchover:eek: Thats 6 new TV's. Loads more but I honestly don't think anyone would believe me-I was here and I still am having a hard time with it:rotfl::rotfl:but yes it is legal for me to have such an old fridge freezer!!!

No idea what tea will be it was going to be a lentil loaf with roast veg. Might do courgette and feta fritters as could do with using some courgettes.
Anyway must go and do something before I have to write off today.
    Have a great day.
    Take care
    LadyGrim thinking of you.
    Hugs as needed.

P.S. I have a nickname Mark has started to call me nurdgirl:eek: due to my election interest(obsession???) Doesn't everybody sit in front of the news with a pen and paper writing down the current poll results???

    Laters gang..

:rotfl: at least it wasn't in the ironing basket :p..... I have to admit to trying to put the juice into the cupboard I took a glass from instead of back into the fridge :o
