Gumtree Buyer Asking for a Refund?!

Agree with the others - ignore her. For a £5 and the fact that you were so kind as to bring it round, it isn't worth it!
Some people really amaze me...0 -
To be honest, it looks in good nick for £5!!!!! If it were a little stained I'd just put new fabric over it and shutup! It's only a fiver!
And you've been good enough to take the time to do all that, at minimum wage you'd be getting a lot more than a fiver!!!
I'd just text her and tell her to get some febreeze and !!!!!!!

Ignore her. She should be paying you for wasting your time and your efforts getting it to her. Some people have some cheek .0

Lol! We used to joke about that; you can put your hand in the crease... erm... whatever that signifies... and however strange that is! :rotfl:0 -
Lol thanks guys, I feel a lot better now :j
It's just nice to know something sells to a good home and I guess it feels like a bit of a waste. I think maybe she's stressed with her money situation, but she was really asking too much of me, I'm not a charity, I'm broke myself!
This is the first time this has happened on gumtree, usually things go really smoothly. Oh well!
Btw, I didn't refund it
but perhaps she'll come round and like it anyway. 0 -
hey there,
I have a similar problem. Someone bought a bicycle wheel from me the other day from gumtree.com. His friend pick them up on friday and give me the money then without checking anything about the wheel. And on monday the owner contacted me saying he wanted a refund on the wheel. Saying that there was a damage on the wheels. What course of action can i take?0 -
If someone buys at a distance they still have a legal right to have time to inspect the goods, whether that's at the seller's house or their own.
You might have to accept a return.
The posts above are unaware of the rules under SoGA but they apply equally to private and business sellers, I'm afraid."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I'm not sure SoGA applies but even if it does I would love to see Tradng Standards getting involved in an argument over a used bicycle wheel !
Personally I would ignore them.0
