Paying money into RBS Account from Natwest?

I have been told that I can pay money into my RBS account from any Natwest Branch is this true? I have looked on the RBS website but can't find any info. - Can I pay cash and/or cheques in? - Will they charge? - Do I need my RBS paying in book or can I just take my card? The reason I am asking is I will be staying in an…

'Twas a few years ago - and in Surrey, not Scotland. Maybe RBS are less snooty since they went belly up ... at the time I was made to feel inferior since I only banked with "the subsidiary". Whereas I suspect RBS would no longer exist if it hadn't been for their ownership of NatWest.
