They really aren't bad at all. People have just given them a reputation without basis.

As said above my 114 is an asolute hoot and when I borrowed a 75 for a weekend off my ex's dad it really was a fantastic driving experience - it was quick for what it was (v6 version) amazingly comfy and relaxing to drive - I'd have one in a shot if I was regularly driving long distance
Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male:

I'm no mechanic, just a driver (and a woman at that ;)), I have to say my 1996 Rover 600, even when I sold it last year, was the most reliable and comfortable car I've ever had. I love the look of the Rover 75, and I would have no hesitation in buying a Rover again. I had to be persuaded by my OH to get the Rover 600 in the first place (he's a non-driver, but preferred the look of the Rover inside and out to an Astra we were also considering), but I'm really glad I did.

If I were buying an old Rover, or any car at that price, I'd be wanting to buy it from the long-term owner, not as a part-ex from a dealer who probably paid £200 for it.

Do you lot remember when Rover had just collapsed, and you could buy a brand new 75 for half the list price, if not lower?! I seem to remember £11,995 down from ~£25k...

try finding trim parts for a 75 if you buy one you might as well buy a second for spares

I used to race a Citroen AX in autograss racing, and it was fitted with a pair of twin 40 downdraught Webers from an MG Maestro, which bolted straight onto the AX manifold, so there were some parts that were useful.
That's my mutt in the picture above.
