Seat allocation on Easyjet?

Hi
Of the budget airlines i have only flown with Jet2 in the past. This year i am flying with Easyjet. On checking my booking yesterday i noticed that no seat allocation is given on check in. It is from what i gather a free for all at boarding time. I am travelling on my own with my young children so want to be sat together. Is this likely or will i be stressed the whole flight not sat near my children?

I have looked on easyjet and it seems i can book priority boarding at £46 per flght and that isn't a seat allocation just prioroity boarding:eek:

Wish i had know this before booking as i would have stuck with jet2!!

It should not be a problem. Families with young children are loaded after those who have paid for speedy boarding, but before the rest of the passengers.
  • Hi - we travelled with kids under 3 ish and the boarding cards were stamped so that we went through after the pre paid bookings and before everyone else.
  • Easyjet board in the following order -

    Priority boarding
    Families with children under 5
    Everybody else.

Remember however that if you need to take a bus from the terminal to the plane, you'll only get on the bus first, not the plane.

IIRC, there is a regulation that children have to be seated with their parents anyway. Something about them not wanting you going back to look for your kids during an evacuation.

My children are under 8 but not under 5! Hopefully we will still get boarded after the priority bookings! Thanks for putting my mind at rest. It is a 4 hour flight so even they they are not todddlers not practical to be seperated for that long!

We've never had speedy boarding. My boys were 8 & 10 last year when we managed to get to near the front of the queue and I think we were pretty much first on the plane. Can't see anyone wanting to see a child split up from their parents on a flight.

CAA rules prevent children being seated away from their parents/guardians anyway, so if it happened cabin crew would just move people around a little.

What is the child age with regards to this rule? as Easyjet board people with under 5's almost first, what happens if you have slightly older children and board last?

Wea lways pay for speedy boarding (ds is 13) so that we can all sit together. I have been on a couple of flights where people get on almost last with kids and then expect people to re shuffle so they can sit next to each other. This takes time and annoys people. If you want to be sure you sit together then by SB or get to the front of the 'everyone else' queue!
