If you don't have/want a suit, then at least, trousers, shirt and tie.. (which is basically a suit without a jacket)
Going to an interview in jeans and polo shirt = No job0 -
Dress up = get the job.
Just seen another post by someone asking about clothing allowance from the Job Centre for interviews. If on JSA, have you checked?

Trawl the charity shops and you can probably pick up quite decent dark or black trousers and better fitting shirts. Astonishing choice of ties as well.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Dressing smart won't hurt your chances of getting the job. Looking too casual might.Trawl the charity shops and you can probably pick up quite decent dark or black trousers and better fitting shirts. Astonishing choice of ties as well.
You'll find something smart in the charity shop for not very much money (or you could get a shirt and chinos from Primark for around a tenner). I've worn the same charity shop suit to interviews for years - and I also don't feel esp comfortable in a suit, but it has to be done sometimes
As long as it's clear that you've made the effort to dress smartly, I doubt that interviewers will mind that much if clothes aren't a perfect fit - so long as you don't look like you're auditioning for the circus :rotfl: 0 -

To see what other people think! If i cant afford to get a suit or new clothes but have some smart casuals surely they will do.0 -
If someone turned up for an interview with me wearing any kind of jeans I would (rightly or wrongly) assume that the job wasnt important enough to them to make an effort. Not saying you wouldnt look smart OP but its frowned upon no matter what job you are being interviewed for. Dont you have a pair of black trousers?:smileyhea0
