I've got two interviews coming up this week! Big decision now is what to wear?
I'm not very keen on suits and i have lost a bit of weight recently and my shirts look a bit naff on me, So do you think decent polo shirt, jeans and smart shoes would do for the interview? The jobs are only shop work.

I don't think jeans cut it in interviews, but I'm sure you would be ok with a smart top, suit style trousers & smart clean shoes.0

I dont mean blue denim jeans though i think i should point that out! They're near enough black.0 -
I think it depends on what job the interviews are for.
edit: oops - sorry, I didn't read your OP properly![0 -
I really, really wouldn't go to an interview in jeans. I have seen a few applicants do that where I work and it doesn't make a good impression. Even if the job is quite casual interviewers still want to see that someone will take the trouble to make a good impression. Remember that shop jobs do have quite strict dress codes so don't assume casual is okay. Do you not have any plain black trousers? Could you not borrow a shirt if your ones are a bit big now?0

I would go with a suit, it will give you more respect. It will also set you apart and show you have made some effort...I've seen a trend for those that don't really want to get the job (probably just ticking boxes to get their JSA) to turn up in casual clothes. Don't worry if your shirt looks a bit loose your jacket will cover it.
This is just my personal opinion of course...no one knows the mind of the particular interviewer.0 -
I bought a shirt and tie in ASDA last week reduced from £6 to £3......0

Shop work or no shop work, you still have to be seen to be making an effort for the job interview. And denim jeans or near black denim jeans are still jeans and a no, no.
Appearance and standards are very important and my manager never allows us (assistant managers) to employ anyone who doesn't make an effort. 0 -
No jeans. Suit if you've got one which fits if you'd rather not buy a new shirt. I know you don't like suits but if you've got one, it'll make a good impression and it's better than jeans and polo shirt. I dislike outfits which aren't jeans and trainers but I still wear suit trousers and boots to job interviews.0

I would not employ anyone that came to an interview like that.
SUit and shirt is a must, even if you only iron the front part as your jacket will cover everything else. If you clothing is casual do I take that to mean your work will be likewise, yes probably0 -
Another one here for no jeans - regardless of colour.Mags - who loves shopping0
