i don’t have it forwarded to another address, the suppler does then they re-send the item to me from a UK address so i don’t pay the duty, they do.
Sorry, I'm still confused.
Are you buying from a UK company who wholesale goods originating from China? If so they are charging you the cost of the goods, shipping, duty and import fees plus their mark up. These won't be itemised of course.
I thought you were ordering and importing yourself in which case you would pay the Chinese company for the goods and carriage and then you would pay import duty, customs charges and VAT on entry to the UK.
Either way you are paying the charges indirectly or directly.0 -
don't really buy with intention of selling, but will sometimes re-sell if an item doesn't fit nicely - have made a very small profit sometimes...
I have also bought some job lot collection only items for just 1 of the items included and then sold the rest..0 -

It's come up before that bargains can be had from listings incorrectly spelt, badly photographed items and minimal descriptions. It's also when sellers restrict themselves to UK buyers only.
I inherited my mum's jewellery a while ago and was worred about letting any of it go without thoroughly researching each piece. I had visions of one of mum's necklaces ending up on Antique Roadshow!
None of it is particularly valuable but I learnt a lot on the way. I've also started collecting items from ebay that I recognise as a particular designer but the seller hasn't used a jeweller's loupe to look for the maker's mark. That with a blurred photo oftens means I've picked up brooches for a £2/3 that usually sell for around £20! I could easily bag bigger bargains once I've researched other designers. But this takes time
The downside with buying jewellery items is that missing rhinestones, worn enamel and plating can't always be seen with the naked eye and won't show up on the photos. Can be a disappointment when opening the post. With the buyer giving a minimal description I could hardly accuse the seller of item not as described.Saving money right, left and centre0 -
