Beware T-Mobile and PAC codes

I recently tried to move my old phone number to T-Mobile from Vodafone.

Vodafone gave me a PAC code which T-Mobile accepted but the port didnt happen. After a couple of days with no calls I chased t-mobile who said the number I wanted to move had once been owned by BT so they could not handle it. That is disapointing but they should have told me this BEFORE accepting the code.

My old phone and sim do not work, Vodafone have closed my account, and the old number is in limbo. I cannot move it back and t-mobile have screwed up.

I now have to accept a new phone number with all the hassles and expense that PAC codes were designed to address. I have to consider paying for changes to websites, business cards, letterheads (luckily I dont have the number on my vehicle too)

T-mobile offered £20 in compensation, which i have rejected, which doesnt even start to cover the expense, never mind the hassle of telling all my contacts.

not a good start by them, and Im tied in for 2 years

If you have a business acc you will have grounds for getting some your costs back.

If you're using a domestic acc for business, then you're unlikely to get very far, sorry
