Orange contract 2 people
Hi,
I'm asking on behalf of my girlfriend. She has been with Orange for a very long time now and yesterday, her contract phone decided to break. It's a weird one though cause the screen looks like it's split but there is no physical crack... There's all this black stuff in the screen so you can't see the screen at all.
The phone has been, I can only describe it as this, 'blistering' at the top for a while and showing some shiny green stuff within the surround. It's a samsung tocco original one.
My question is this. She quite fancies an iPhone and so do I. We thought about putting both of us on her contract so in theory Orange will be getting two new iPhone customers. She has about 5/6 months (I think) left on her contract of a 24 month one so what do people think Orange might be able to do for her/us. I am on Orange pay and go so I'm sort of with Orange to.
Thanks for taking the time to help.

Generally early upgrades are in the last 3 months only.
No idea about putting 2 people on a contract, but i believe it can be done.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
You can only upgrade in the last 3 months as above.
You can have up to 3 phones on one acc, but I don't think that give you any more pull, especially with iPhones as there are almost no deals for anyone...0 -
Ahh I see. Long gone are the days of 'well as you've been an exceptional customer here's a little thank you'. Though understand about the whole iPhone thing.
I think our best bet would be to get one for me and then let my OH use my phone so she is not without one then in October upgrade her phone rather than buy a phone for her for only 3 or 4 months. I feel terrible that I seem to be benefitting from her misfortune though...
Is there anything that can be done for her phone through warranty?:think:0 -
You might very well get a deal on anything but an iPhone.
The networks have very little leeway on them, Apple set the price, plain and simple.
If you wanted to try for 2 HTC's, then you may very well get a much better deal, but not with the iPhone, sorry. . .0 -
Apple have it sewn up really don't they. Steve Jobs will one day rule this world and have the Earth carved into an apple.
Any idea if Orange would fix the phone under warranty?0 -
Orange would fix it under warranty for sure, but you'd be much better off taking it to an Apple store.
My wife's iPod Touch went iffy a few months back, it came from O2 on an offer last year. O2 wanted it back to send off to Apple, she would have been without it for weeks.
Took it in the Apple store (almost next to the O2 store), they ran their system over it, agreed it was faulty and swapped it there and then.
So, yes, any network has to repair under warranty, but they take time. Apple do it there and then. All you need is the receipt...0 -

I think I should have made it a bit clearer it's her Samsung Tocco that's faulty. We're looking to get iPhones. Thanks for the info though it will come in handy when we do have iPhones.0 -

Dho, sorry.
As a rule the network will cover the warranty in the first 12 months, after that the manufacturer will cover the next 12 (2 years in total).
It can be faster to go to the manufacturer in the first place as they offer 2 years. Yes the network will get it fixed, but they have to send it to Samsung, who than send back to them who send it to to... Faster to send it there yourself...0 -

I think my bad luck with phones is waring off onto my OH. Uh-Oh.0
