I beleive that Ikea units are different sizes to all others.
Try Googlin DIY kithens in Pontefract. Solid ready built units and solour matching doors, made by reputable Second Nature company who supply many small kithcen shops around the county.

Well.. if im going to get the gloss white slab from B&Q.. it looks like this is the weekend to buy it.. with an extra 15% off everything!

My only issue with the It range is that the soft close drawer upgrade is so expensive!

The doors are cheap to do, with the compressor style things being available on ebay. But the drawer upgrades its not so simple... not sure if there are any runners available to upgrade this?

    hi daleuk,

ive got some of the plunger thingies ready to fit on my doors. still havent got round to fitting them yet but they work exactly the same as the really expensive onces you can buy anywhwere. they were from b and q. grey and orange i think.

as to the soft closing draws, im not sure what kind of runner system they use to achive soft closing. it might be worth a gamble and fitting a soft close plunger behind the lower part of the drawer front so it will soft close on its own? i dont know if the draws will close themselves as ive never tried, but i think the last 2 inches or so of a normal runner track are angled slightly lower to achive a closing effect. best to check tho as ive never looked.

let us know if you dicsover anything as i would be interested in doiing this myself if i can retrofit anything!

    cheers

Wickes kitchens come with soft closers as standard. Why not take your B&Q quote into Wickes and see if they will price match?

Good idea! I will.. I supposed I will have to get the quote from b&q that includes the softclose drawer option, so that it is comparable in spec to the wickes kitchen...(or would they not check that?... would they just check its similar style etc? i.e. white gloss)

    Got appointment at b&q tonight!

Note the self closing drawer boxes are made by 'Blum' - any kitchen supplier can get them. There's a place near us - HPP - and they supply to the trade and public and have a website with prices (I think)
I did a bedroom and in the end I bought B&Q kitchen drawer fronts, Ikea kitchen carcasses, and Wickes 300mm 4 drawer kitchen base units purely to get 4 sets of cheap Blum self close drawer boxes.
Took a while to fit but all came in much cheaper than buying from one source.
