micra failed MOT need new car

Having a car brings alot of freedom no matter how little mileage a year you do. If it was me, I'd run it into the ground then just buy another cheap old car with 12 months MOT on.

Back to the car, 30 miles a week split over 4 trips for a cost of £13 sounds like it’s worth keeping the car as I doubt you’ll get taxis for the same cost and that’s before you factor in the additional freedom of having a car. My dear old dad only does about a third of the miles you do but strongly resists any attempts to talk him into getting rid of his car

Get an old french car/van with the XUD 1.9 turbo diesel engine.
(peugeot 405, peugeot 306, citreon xantia etc etc etc)

Then run it on waste veg oil and laugh as you drive past the garages
