I wrote about it a while back but I should probably update my research.

Thanks for this. So it has anti ageing properties as well as SPF 2.
I have redness on my face that has gone within a week of using Shea butter once at night. My daughter's ezcema has gone within a week and I'm seeing a reduction of breakage in my hair. :T0 -

Flippin are you using it as a prepoo? I'm sat with it on my hair as I type - I can't wait to rinse it out and see all the soft shinyness it brings.
Just another tip - If you suffer with manky feet (don't be shy it's sandal season) soak your feet in hot water with some shea melted in it - rub them with a pumice (I think the Dr Newton one from Boots is by far the best) and then cover your feet liberally with shea. Cover in plastic bags then pop a pair of socks over the top. Go to sleep. Wake up with the most incredibly soft feet. I swear my feet haven't been this soft since the day I was born! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -
Can any of the current users recommend a good shea butter supplier? There so many SB retailers on the internet....I would like to use someone that has been recommended.
Hi
I buy my Shea Butter from Shea Butter Cottage:

I usually buy a large block and whip a bit up with a fork. Great for making body butters. It was really soothing when I burnt my hand and reduced the scarring.

Hi,
Just thought I'd add that after the positive comments on here I've just bought some shea butter from poplarsheabutter on eBay. I'm hoping it'll help with my eczema and dry feet! :j
I paid £2.49 plus £1.85 p&p for 250g
Bit of blonde question though, how do I apply it? It seemed rather solid in the photo, but I don't want to dilute it with any other oils in order to whip it. Rub it on like soap?
Thanks in advance,

I got a unrefined kilo from eBay, and it lasted about three years. Excellent stuff. Have not found anything to compare to it for chapped lips, even pricey Clinique lip stuff, as it 1 - doesn't sting, 2 - actually heals.
I use it everywhere else too, face, hands, hair, body. Have recently discovered castor oil for strangely enough, removing oil plugs and blackheads from the face! If you're interested, look up "castor oil" and "face" on google. It really works. A little bottle (200ml?) for under £1 in Boots.0 -
I have received the shea butter, rosehip oil and cocoa butter and this is what I think:
Shea butter: a bit hard but easy to soften using heat from hands. Slightly odd "nutty" smell. Used as a body moisturiser-very good but OH unsure about smell. Also been smoothing on my long, VERY thick, curly hair on a daily basis, when dry. This is the best way to use it for me. It really keeps the frizz at bay and adds a lovely gloss without making it look greasy or making the hair "clump" like some styling waxes do. Recommended.
Rosehip Oil-smoothed on my face at night-very nice and I think my skin looks more "even toned". Light and seems to be absorbed rather than sitting on the surface. I would recommend.
Cocoa butter-harder than Shea butter so more difficult to use. I have only used once, at the weekend when I had more time. Microwaved a small bit slightly so it was softer. Very good body moisturiser but again the smell takes a bit of getting used to. Nicer smell than Shea butter as more "chocolately"-again, I would recommend.
All 3 products are good and will get used-just a matter of experimenting to find out what works best where!0 -
Oh dear...I can see another new addition to my bathroom soon now I've read this!
Can it be used as a moisturiser on the face? Would it aggravate acne? I use mineral makeup so could I use SB as a base or would it be too greasy? I also have the worst feet at the moment and would kill to find something to make them soft again
xxI have realised I will never play the Dane!
Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!!0 -

You may just have to work it well between your palms to soften it up. I prefer to mix mine with EVO and a few essential oils for a nice smell.0 -

Yes, I'm quite generous with it as a prepoo. Then I use a tiny amount to seal my ends. In fact I'm using it for pretty much everything. I mixed it with coconut oil for a cleanser, I've added some bicarb as a scrub, lipbalm (with vit E), neat as a body butter. Its excellent value for money.0
