I guess I'm a lurker too - try and post early in week and then tend to just get through what I can! I feel particularly virtuous at having done my ironing already as I couldn't sleep....but will feel awful later!!! Have just read Kazwookie's post properly - great minds eh?
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!
  • And I thought I'd woken up at silly o'clock??

Well as I'm up and wide awake guess I'd better do something...desk & office are manky so HHC here I think..

    ..anyone joining me??:rotfl::rotfl:

Mrs Chaos - I know you are using up some apples and this is my fave family recipe for apple cake that is a cinch to make.
    Aunt Sallys Apple Cake
    8oz self raising flour
    4oz marg or butter
    4oz castor sugar
    8oz roughly chopped apples
    4oz saltanas
juice of half a lemon (soak the apples in this once chopped)
    2 med-large eggs
    2 tsp cinnamon

    1/2 tsp ginger
    • Mix flour and marg til it resembles breadcrumbs.
    • Add all other ingredients
    • Let sit for 5 mins
    • Grease tin
    • Place in tin (push up bottom type if available but not vital)
    • Cook at 180 degrees Gas mark 4 for 1 - 1 1/4 hrs or til a knife pulls out cleanly
Delicious hot as a pudding with custard (or clotted cream.. yumyumyum) or cold as a deliciously moist cake.
Have a list of people to ring an arm long so will actually post a list today. Can't cope with this nausea and vomiting any more.
Love to all and hope everyone has a good day. With love, light and

    Morning all

That's quite a few early risers out there today. It took me a bit longer to get out of bed, but so far I have dried some washing, started WM with yet another load, emptied/re-loaded DW, put rubbish out and decluttered some breakfast. In the next 10 minutes I'll write a short note to DS2's teacher, sort some cheques for child minder/breakfast club/school dinners and then get the kids up. DS1 will be absolutely shattered after his DofE weekend, so that should be fun. Good job I don't mind a challenge.

    Plan for afternoon/evening:
do some of the kitchen list
plant beans (and strawberries if possible)
    laundry
find transport for playhouse for Saturday
    work

Triker - thanks for the recipe. The cake looks yummy. ETA and thanks to Diva, too - think I might hunt around for some eating apples and make both!

Hope it's going to be a good week for everyone.

Morning campers, I'm here although I would rather be wrapped up in my duvet and staying there until a good few months have disappeared..:o Nothing major I just wish I hadn't read the new policy thingy on long term IB and mental health proposals yesterday. I worked myself up into a bit of a mess yesterday morning while DH was out walking the dogs, even to the point where I wanted to self harm again (not good I know) and now I am paying for it big time.. It looks like I am rapid cycling quite badly - I am alternating between manically cleaning and then sitting doing nothing..or vegetating and crying. For those with bipolar you'll know what I am talking about :DPolkadot I keep meaning to PM you, will do that later when I feel a bit more in control, also do I have you on FB - I'm not sure.

Actually it's a good thing this cycling thingy as I do actually get a lot done. Yesterday we planted up the garden veg plot with cabbages, beetroot and some more cabbages..lol. Also the cloches went up too over them - good buy from the 99p shop these were. I also planted up all my herbs and flowers that were getting too big for their pots..went round like a mad thing and picked up all the carpe in the garden that the dogs had left - i.e. dead plant pots etc.. I managed to do a whole days worth of gardening in 2 hours - oops:cool: DH did pick up on what I was doing but he left me to it as he knew I wouldn't settle until I had got it done. I then went to bed at about 2pm for 4 hours and slept solidly. This morning I feel like I have been hauled through a hedge backwards and run over by a truck too.. Yet I am still feeling slightly manic, which I can't control for some reason. Anyway I took advantage of this feeling and cleaned my kitchen after DH went to work at 6am.. So I only have a couple of things to do on the list.. I think this afternoon I will be asleep on the sofa..lol

Sorry to dump this on you all, didn't know where else to turn as I have no mum or family to talk to (apart from DH).

    Diva - hugs sweetie :T
Toots - hugs honey :A and thank you so much for my gold star :A
LL - extra special hugs for you honey:A

    morning all

I was also up early (for me) at 6...feel like I could go back to bed now to be honest but meant to be working from home. Think I'll have to resort to a cup of tea to get me going.

DH has an early meeting so he set off just after 6, won't be back til 10.30pm or so as he's also got a late meeting. New bed for the spare room/study arrived just before 7 - i am trying to leave it alone so dh can put it together tomorrow...it's so tempting to do it though!

Plan today is some of the kitchen, some washing, including the new bedding i bought for the spare bed...plus lots of work. I am going over to my friends for 4.30 so will finish work about 3.30..this is perfect as i'll be starting early.

I have just counted up and I reckon I have about 70 working days (taking out 2 hols) before my maternity leave. :)
