Plus net HELP!!

hi all, a long shot i know but here goes......
does anyone have a different contact number for the isp plus.net?
the 0845 number simply gets me on their merry go round of an automated service and then cuts me off after 4 or 5 options i choose. this is highly frustrating especially when in the past we have had so many problems with the service (roll on end of contract).
no matter where i look i just cant find a number that will get me to speak to someone.
we have just finished 3 months free internet because the service was so poor (sort of compensation for it being down for 3 months) now we need to set the details up to pay again but also discuss the account.... arrgghhhh so frustrating!
thanks for any help.

Unfortunately I can't be of much assitance but having just got off from their merry go round telephone system of hell after being cut off yet again I thought I'd vent my spleen.
I've been trying to cancel my account with them since the end of June. Trying to get through to them on the phone is impossible as the only opportunity to speak to a human (debatable) is by going through to their sales line who refuse to help and just shove you back into the automated system. I've left numerous questions for them through their question system, the last one begging them to close my account (after they'd just taken out another months payment), was nearly 2 weeks ago with no response.
Anyway I've just phoned up my credit card company to put in a disputed claim because this is getting ridiculous.
What is going on with this once reliable company?0 -
The best way to contact them is via the internet. They are almost impossible to contact by telephone. First raise a ticket in their online help system. You will need to login with your Plusnet username and password.

You might have to hunt around a bit until you find an option that lets you post a request for help instead of dishing up an FAQ answer. The quickest seems to be Email & Webmail > Recover or get information we have quarantined.
Make a note of the ticket number you get given.
Having done that, pop over to the Plusnet User Group forum. Login to the forum (or register if not already a member), then post a question asking for help and quote the ticket number. A lot of clued up Plusnet support staff hang out in this forum so you can get to them directly without having to go through the ping-pong ticket tennis on the help desk.

Choose the PlusNet customer Services Issues option.
There is a slight problem though. To sign up as a member of the PUG forum, you need to do this while connected to the internet via Plusnet. Not easy if your Broadband doesn't workYou can use dial up if you still have that old modem
edit: Plusnet have announced a free number for broadband customers with no broadband connection. See http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1155232716.htm
The other possibility is to post in the Plusnet forum on ADSLguide however, Plusnet recently banned their support staff from posting on ADSLguide but if you can't get onto the PUG forum, post on ADSLguide and a helpful Plusnet person might spot it. (They still monitor the forum but they don't post anymore).

Hope that helps.0
