Phone needed that works with o2 sim.
Hey guys,
I have an o2 sim-only contract and the phone I was currently using for it has just decided to give up on me. Now, I'm in desperate need of a new phone but I don't really want to splash out on one that wasn't suitable for my needs.
The jist of this is that I'm not sure of what phones are out on the market currently so I'm looking for a little bit of advice. I've scanned the phones on CPH and o2s sites but I'm seeing phones that are being sold as web browsers and social networking devices.
Cost is also an issue being a student.
I'm wondering if any of you guys would be able to recommend a phone that is smart, calls people and sends and recieves texts without all this fancy touch screen malarky.
Thanks in advance,
Fredrico

All carphonewarehouse phones are unlocked so you'd be able to get any payg phone there and put your sim in it.
The Sony W395 is a great phone, few family members have one. Think they're about £40 - £60 on the carphonewarehouse.Sigless0 -
Any cheap Nokia from CPW. 2730 is very good.0

Actually they are not. Most phone from CPW will be unlocked but not all.
Basically anything thats a network exclusive (be it a specific colour or a certain phone) will more than likely come to CPW as a box set and be locked. Anything "common" CPW will probably use generic stock and they will be unlocked.
Some phones (iphone and blackberrys) are almost always locked, and it doesn't matter where you get them from.
Good way to tell is to ask to see the box. if it's got the networks logo on it then it's mroe than likely locked. No logo and it's probably generic stock and not locked.0 -
CPW are pretty good I've got to say. If you know what you want ot use it for and your price range, go in and ask and see if you can test some out (which is what I did today and got me a BlackBerry - wasn't cheap but was worth it - specially with trade in which you might get still)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Sony Ericsson T303 is a very good , small, triband phone that should also be around 30-40 quid. Most cheap nokias are dual band which means they wont work outside Europe.0
