If i buy internet security software that can be used on three PC's,do they all have to be in the same home or could i for instance put it on my laptop and give it to my brother to load on his laptop even though we live seperately.

Legally, in most cases, no you can't, but as long as you register with the same name and e-mail address, it won't be a problem. However, I have noticed recently that some licences just mention that it restricts it to 3 computers - no mention of being in the same household.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Can't speak for other software but Kaspersky 3-user licences have no such limits. I regularly install them in groups of 3 totally unrelated systems having had (written) confirmation of this from Kaspersky support.
Get it from Amazon for about £15 + p&p and it works out at around £5-6 per machine per year. Depending on the way you use the machine, the standard AV package is less demanding and intrusive than the all-singing, all-dancing Internet Security suite.0
