saf, It must have been someone else then who delivered my fitted wardrobes, new door frames and laminate flooring this morning! I could have sworn the van said Howdens!0
-
An added bonus with Howdens, everything comes ready assembled, not flat pack, so you save money on joinery costs as well cos they don't have to spend a day putting flat packs together.0
-
Yeah, the website deffinitly says Howdens do wardrobes.
You think £1000 is a good price? I'm just tight by nature and the fact that he said right off the bat that he could knock £300 off (without any prompting or haggling from me) made me think there was some more negotiating in him!!:rotfl:0 -
Go to B&Q get a quote (which, I assure you WILL be under £1000 for something almost identicle) then take it back to MFI and say unless he can compete you can't possibly streth that far and will go to B&Q.0
-
I didn't know B&Q did wardrobes?0
-
I appologise if Howdens do wardrobes. I worked at MFI about 2 years ago and was under impression Howdens did about 20-25 ranges of Kitchens but not bedrooms.sorry.0

Howdens is the trade arm of MFI group and as such can get hold of everything that MFI can, whether they will for you is up to them.
My OH works for MFI and can beat a howdens quote any day of the week, and usually including fitting:beer:
Round here, W.Yorks, B+Q can't get close to an MFI quote and IMHO, things like narrower worktops need to be taken into account.
As for Howden's stuff being ready built, Schreiber units are ready built, Hygena are not so make sure you check which you are getting.0 -
Whits, if your OH works for MFI I would be interested in your honest opinion on what a good deal is for Schreiber wardrobes? I must admit I take the word 'sale' with a pinch of salt as they have so many - I just want the best deal I can for the wardrobes. I don't mind being cheeky and pushing for discount but as he has already dropped the price to £1000 from £1300 can I ask for anymore? :beer:0

At the end of the day, all companies have a price establishment period but there are always little extras to be knocked off.
The salesman wants you to know you have a good deal so that when you need something else, ypu'll go back to him.
£300 off a £1300 sale is quite a good deal but as long as you have a decent rapport going, why not push a bit more?0 -
Thanks for that, I'll see how I go!!0
