My dad is 83 and has just received a P161 form; he hasn't had any change in his pensions or anything, so don't really understand why he's been sent it. Anybody there to advise please?

This should probably be in the Cutting Tax forum.

HMRC have sent this out because they have a new computer system and they are just trying to ensure that what they have on record on that new system is correct.
I'm sure you've seen in the media the problems with tax codes etc this year and so many pensioners are getting P161's to make sure everything is ok. It's nothing to worry about. Just get your dad to fill it in and send it back
