Coming towards the end of 18month O2 iphone contract

As of May 3rd, I will be able to upgrade from an 18 month Iphone contract I took out with O2 at the end of 2008 and I am looking to either upgrade or change providers to get a blackberry 9700 with minimum minutes, unlimited txts and unlimited blackberry services for max £30pm on an 18 month deal but I am also looking to ask you all a few questions if that is ok?

1) What is the best method to sell my original hand set?

2) What would be the best deal available to me?

3) What are the internet facilities like on the blackberry 9700? As the browsing and social networking facilities on the Iphone are the only things that are making me considering extending my current contract

Thanks in advance everyone! :j

I hate to say this I have a Iphone and a blackberry. Blackberry has been provided through work ( on voda)

The blackberry is so awful, almost all team members have had to send them back for repair/ replacment. In a year Ive had 3 replacements. Yes its great for emailing on the move. Better than iphone imo.

However, The internet on the blackberry IMO is nowhere near as good as Iphone, the screen and the "touch" aspect on the iphone is superior by a long way. I always dig out my iphone for internet instead of using works blackberry.

Up to you, but I personally wouldnt.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • the browsing capabilities are the not the most important factor which I have been considering. The most important things such as social networking, the camera, email, battery life and the fact the blackberry has a nice actual qwerty keyboard are the most important factors I have been considering.

What is the music player like on the blackberry btw?

I haven't bothered with the music player on the blackberry tbh as its my work phone.

Incidentally if you are going to be a heavy user ( I am of the blackberry can often talk for over 2 hours a day) I take it off charge at night and its flat by the time I get home ( good reason to turn it off!) I personally dont think the battery life is any better than iphone in fact if anything somewhat worse.

i you are going to be in remote areas, dont choose vodaphone, I travel a lot to rural areas and often get no reception on voda.

  • cheers pal, the providers I have found to offer the best deals are all but vodafone so I do not think i will b going with them anyways.

As I will be getting rid of my IPhone, i was looking to sell the IPhone to fund the purchase of an IPod to replace the IPod function of the iphone and I was just wondering about the quality of the music player on the Blackberry

You are selling an iPhone to get an iPod Touch? Unless you are going to get a higher capacity iPod Touch than your iPhone it doesn't make sense.
  • sorry im not actually looking to get an IPod touch, i want to get a classic with a minimum of 80gb of space. The major reason I am looking for a new phone is because I am sick of not actually having any physical buttons on my phone

Have you looked at Tesco or Dialaphone? Tesco network piggybacks with O2 but they are very competitive, Dialaphone do the best cashback offers, as long as you are organised you can get an amazing deal.

For how much r u offering the iphone? :D
Can u be specific about its features??
  • the phone itself will be going on ebay for a reserve of £150 to receive £200 or it will be traded in for credit on my contract. The phone is a reconditioned 8gb 3g iPhone and does have general wear and tear as a phone of 18 months would do but it does also have a crack in the casing at the bottom of the phone at the back which is less than an inch long and does not affect the way the phone works at all.

There is also a thin piece of casing missing from the charging socket but the phone charges perfectly well and does not loose power
  • Hey, the day has finally arrived and I am definately going to be getting a blackberry 9700 :D the problem is all of the networks I have been looking at are offering identical deals, what is the best way of trying to bargain with each 1 or will I have to speak to them individually? I am moving on from an 8gb 3g iphone and i wos wondering about the best place to sell this too.
