Make up a back pack each with new colouring books, pencils, story books etc. Maybe some small toys like cars or something. You don't have to spend a lot - try supermarkets and stores like Home Bargains, Wilkinsons etc. Or even have a look for stuff in the back of cupboards that they have forgotten about!
As everything is new, it'll keep them more interested than taking stuff they already play with.

I bought that for Keira over 2 years ago and it's still going strong and it's been stood on, thrown, attacked by cats, scribbled on with crayons and it's still in near perfect condition0
