Final Bill From Bg
At last this morning I received my final bill from BG - it took five weeks and several telephone calls, but now I have it and it is correct!
I was expecting at least one phone call trying to persuade me to stay with them, but absolutely nothing.
So from now on it is quarterly billing from Ebico and even though I know the prices will increase in September, at least I will have the benefit of 7 weeks at the old price.
Just wish I had done this years ago, but was always too scared of getting billed by two companies.

Where is everyone getting price increase in September from???
Anyways, Its good you finally took the plunge and decided to try another provider!

Thought everything went too smoothly.........
Received a further bill from BG this morning, £60 higher than the one received yesterday. Final reading had been increased by 73 units!!!
Phoned them straightaway and pointed out that the final reading on the second bill was totally incorrect and that I had already received a correct bil yesterdat and sent the cheque off. Of course as it was BG I naturally assumed it was their fault, but the guy said that the higher reading was the one provided by my new supplier and I should phone them to get it sorted out.
I did this and sure enough they had given this incorrect reading to BG - said that as I left the reading on their automated system they had probably misheard, which I don't really believe as the numbers were nothing alike.
They said they will let BG have the correct reading and hopefully that will be the end of it.
Must admit I did feel a bit guilty assuming it was BG's fault - poor guy on the end of the phone!Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
I have recently arranged to switch from BG. They kept trying to call me, and finally got hold of me to ask why I was switching. I am now awaiting my final bill which they said would take 4 weeks.0

Unfortunately this is a common problem when switching suppliers. BG respond best by e-mail. I think either BG or your new supplier has to raise a dispute to get the reading corrected. Do not be fobbed off with "the difference is too small to trigger a correction". Persist and it should be corrected.
I had this problem even though I contacted both my new and old suppliers on the change over day and gave the same reading to both. I think however the problem arose when they sent round a meter reading person when I was not in around the time the transfer was going through. I suspect that this failed meter reading trumped my customer readings and triggered a hopeless inaccurate estimated reading.0
