Eat in Legoland Cafe or take picnic??

We'll be visiting Legoland on Monday for my daughters birthday and I'm 50/50 over whether or not to take a picnic with us. We visited last year - with a picnic - and I'm sure I must of spent about £30 on that (not too sure what was in it tho!!) so I thought we might eat in their cafe this year.
Has anyone eaten there before that could give me an idea on whether the food was any good and how expensive it was.
Thanks in advance xxxx

All the eating places are expensive! Food is okay fast food stuff and gets better the more you pay! (Typical). There are couple of burger places - one in Duplo land opposite the theatre and one next to the pirate falls - both are "okay" - do standard burger fare.
They do have lockers at the top of the hill, so you could leave lunch there and not take it round with you if you do the picnic thing.
It depends on how many are going with you I suppose! And the weather!0 -
Take a picnic - it is so much easier than finding queuing, sorting out who wants what, finding a table, going back to queue for the drink you forgot. I vowed last year to take a picnic next time - not just for money saving but just because it is less hassle.
You can always have donuts or some cake later in a cafe.0 -

If I went again I would take a picnic. Over priced fast food (isn't all fast food overpriced thou?) also beat the queues which can get quite long.0

The food is expensive and I have found that more of it was wasted than eaten. Having tried several of the restaurants I would take a picnic without hesitation.

I am going to go against the trend and say that we usually eat in one of the restaurants. The food is quite expensive, but it does avoid having to carry your picnic arond with you.
As regards the queues - We tended to eat either before of after the main lunch rush. This way you get to go on the rides when they are less busy. At these times, the restaurant queues tend not to be too long - probaly quicker than finding a good picnic spot.
Recently we have tended to get our food fom pasta patch and the fish and chips outlet just outside. I get some fish and chips for one child and myself. The wife gets pasta/pizza for herself and the other child, then we sit together at the tables in the marquee.
If you do decide to picnic, I recomend the tables on the far side of the lakes if you can find an empty one. On the few occasions that we have taken picnics, we have mainly eaten them there.
Just a note on the lockers - there are a limied number and the coin used to operate them in non-returnable. So, if you put your lunch in there in the morning and then return the remains after lunch you will be paying twice.
If you manage to park reasonably close to the entrance, consider leaving your food in the car. Then when you want lunch, get your hand stamped and go fetch it.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

Take a pinic, we wnet recently and ate on site the first day, no queues but the food was awful and very expensive, we took a picnic on the second day, left it in the lockers and ate it on the hill by mini land, much better.

The downside to taking picnics (although I think it's a good idea) is that you have to carry it round with you all day. With food and drinks this is quite heavy and it sometimes spoils my day out if I'm carrying a heavy bag all day.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

we're off to legoland too this week!
I'm going to take a picnic for lunch but would like to eat out afterwards. Where would you all recommend going that's not too far away? Is it best to head into Windsor? What's the parking like there?
I'm sure we'll all be tired and hungry by the end of the day so any clues on which way to head will probably avoid an arguement!
