    It also says

To continue to receive employment and support allowance you may need to attend a Work focus interview with a personal advisor.

    and later it says

To continue to receive employment and support allowance you may need to attend a work capability assessment. You must provide medical certificates until a work capability assessment is carried out

In the letter you recieved saying that you've been awarded ESA, did it say that you are in the assessment phase recieving £64.50 per week?

If this is the case you will recieve a form ESA50 (I think it's called) which is similar to the DLA forms, basically going into more detail about your condition. When they recieve this they will either decide that there is enough information in the form to put you into an ESA group, or ask you to attend a work capability assessment (medical). At the WCA they will assess what you are capable of, then either put you in the support group (severe disability), the work related activity group (this is interviews with a personal adviser regarding what can be done to get you back into work), or say that you are fit for work.

    *Oops*

I did fill one of these out and sent it off last week.

  • Wow they're really informative these days aren't they?

As I said you will recieve a form in a few weeks to fill out, then they'll more than likely ask you to attend a work capability assessment, then they'll decide. When it comes to the wca if you can't leave the house it is possible to get them to come out to you.
  • Ah ok so next will be assessment.

I can leave the house - just not on my own - basically I need someone to take me and get my wheelchair out etc, etc.

I have just realised the time - off to bed me thinks. Thanks for all your help so far. I'm sure I'll have many more questions soon.

Yeah just wait for them to contact you about it. I'd recommend you take someone in with you anyway for moral support. I didn't take someone to my first one and I really regretted it afterwards.
