My wife's Lloyds 1 year fix cash ISA matures at the end of June 2010. Am I right in reading here that Birmingham Midshires give the best rate for transfer in and addition of this year's allowance?...

You haven't mentioned whether or not your wife still wants another 1 year fixed. Take a look at HERE, it should help you decide.

That is an incredibly useful list!

To answer your question, we went for the year fix to get the good rate, but as I see you can actually get the same or higher in a variable.

What do people think interest rates are going to do over a year?

PS Quite pleased that I purchased gold up to 8gms an an ounce as it hit 10GBP this week and once through this barrier I believe it will continue to rise.
