Really wanted a pair of the Avon ones but i am a size 8!!! So none for me0

It is interesting. How can they justify charging an extra £20 for the exact same product, just intended for a different market? Wish i had smaller feet now, it would save me a small fortune!
I went to John Lewis today with the intention to buy the FitFlops Electra Silver colour, children fitting, size 4. Tried it on, it fits perfectly - I am happy. Then I got curious, trying to understand why the adult ones cost £20 more. I immediately went to the sports section & grabbed the very same design, colour & size except it's for adult. First glance I can see a big difference right away. The sole for the adult is thicker, feels stronger & firmer. Soft of tougher if I may say so. The length however is the same. Feeling more curious, I put on the ones for adult on my right foot and children one on my left. Once I stand up, I can feel the difference right away. The children version is softer. To me it feels a wee bit spongey even. The adult ones definitely feel firmer. I am not massively big & heavy btw. I use clothes size 8-10. When I started walking, the difference between the two especially in terms of support & effect whilst walking is more apparent. So I asked the staff what is the difference between the two. Her reply was the thickness of the sole & the benefit. The children one is thinner because they don't have as much body weight to support compared to adult. Their FitFlops is just to support the feet, encourage the bones to grow properly. They do not reduce the stress of the body, firming, toning & activate the muscles ( no workout while you walk ) like the adult ones does. So that's the answer to justify why each adult foot cost a tenner more compared to kiddies :rotfl:0 -
i've not read of the prev posts, but can anyone tell me if these will help with my constant neck and shoulder pain? i've also noticed last few weeks when starting to wear my summer shoes/sandals is that my feet have felt v uncomfortable in them, usually with sores and blisters (i've had to chuck them out). i've since been to Shuropdy (shoe shop specialising in sensible shoes) and have had a consultant advising me of my flat feet and low arch. i was advised shoes/sandals with lots of support ie., around the back and front of the ankle...altho' the shoes in there aren't v fashionable, i've had to resort to buying a pair!
i don't particularly like flitflops as i think the design of them rather crude. are there others that are a bit more stylish?0 -
I got the Avon ones about a year and half ago and they were good for a while but then my feet kept slipping from them so i bought a pair from sweaty betty, red ones and have been wearing them since october last year and when am at home i were them all the time they are so comfortable. It's the support they give my feet as i have practically flat feet i just wish they did shoes as i would get them0

I sent mine back as it was like walking around with boats on my feet - and I am normally a 6.
I am hoping the 4/5 are wide enough for me to actually get them on though:cool:
I am size 5.5-6 and I bought the 4-5 Avon fitflops. They are a perfect fit!
Really comfortable and although my legs are not yet toned (!) they really ease problems I have from wearing those flattie pumps most of the time. They give a really good stretch down the outside of my ankle and feel fab to walk in.0 -
I've just ordered the Avon ones in both sizes as i'm also a 5.5-6, (also ordered 'extra' few bits too) got fee delivery as order was over £20!My beloved dog Molly27/05/1997-01/04/2008RIP my wonderful stepdad - miss you loads:Axxxxxxxxx:Aour new editionsSenna :male: and Dali :female: both JRT0

Unfortunetly 'crude' is all they do! I know what you mean, I'd love a pair of strappy style sandles but aside from my feet being too broad, I don't think my feet would feel as supported and I don't think they'd be able to live up to their claims.
I don't know what has caused your neck and shoulder pain, if its to do with posture then maybe the sandles will help, theres no promises though as I know people who own them yet still maintain poor posture! They don't correct posture but can make you rethink how to stand as they don't feel exactly the same as regular sandles.
I get blisters whenever I change footware- if its new, I buy two packs of blister plasters and always finish them! This with the exception of Uggs and Birkenstocks (trainers, sandles, kitten heels.... all give me horrible blisters) I have worked out that for me, if I grin and bear it, wear them in over time bit by bit before wearing them fully and its fine, but it can take a few weeks and plenty of patience. Works for me anyway!
Have you seen your doctor about your neck and shoulder pain? it could be many things, everything from sitting at a computer screen at the wrong angle or not taking breaks, not stretching, stress which can make you hold pressure in your shoulders which over time can build to cause knots in your back...
Have you tried things like regular massage, yoga, general aerobics classes (help to use your body in ways you don't normally do and so work muscles which otherwise become weak and can cause problems).0 -

Have you tried el naturalista shoes? A bit pricey but Amazon often have some great bargains.
