The women are expected to seek work same as the man is - when claiming JSA. If she is to be included in the claim then job hunt she must

You have to learn to ask alot of questions at the job centre, most of the staff don't volunteer info - ask about housing, council tax - the lot - every penny helps.

It should be remembered that many of the signing staff will not be trained to offer benefit advice. If further information is needed it would be best to contact CAB, or indeed to ask on MSE! ;)

Is there any need for the language?

JCP frontline staff do not make the rules. They certainly do not deserve to be called names just because you do not like where you have to sign on.

not true, you can sign on wherever you like (as long as they have signing facilities in that jobcentre)

Its not just the fact i cant sign on where i want, when i phoned to make the appointment they asked me to take this that and the other, and then didnt ask for them on the day. I have worked and paid my dues since i left school (30 years), kept a wife, kids managed to buy a house (for which no doubt i will now be penalised), never claimed before, need i go on. And then be treated like someone who is on the scrounge by someone who wasnt even born when i started work. Maybe i need to wake up and smell the coffee

in fairness I don't think he is complaining about when he signs on just that he has a JC on his doorstep yet they are making him travel to another one incurring costs etc...

    This old argument :rotfl:

Past tax payments are no relation to future benefit entitlement.

May not be fair, but thems the rules.

The comment about "being born etc etc" is also moot. To quote another 'verb :

At least that person is employed.

    Get the idea?

    hello,

dont know if this will help but i think you can make a claim for the family. ie - if i have been told correctly, then if a couple has children, that are under 20 and in full time education then as long as put in to claim jsa IB it normally comes out as a 'family claim' at the £102 something... as because the child is still in full time education your wife will not be required to go in and sign. at least thats what i was told.

i would check to see what type of jsa you are getting and if its jsa C (you can check with the benefit enquiry line then look into claiming jsa ib, normally done as a change of circumstance.... the enquiry line will tell you more.

    hth :)
