A word of warning! I have never been able to re-use these bags successfully. They always fill with air once emptied after the first time. I do store out-of-season clothes in them at the top of my wardrobe by squashing them all in at the same time before the air has a chance to fully fill the bags.

I'll bear that in mind, thanks. Actually, I intend to wear those clothes out and don't replace them all, so won't need to re-use all of the bags (and I'm keeping three spares anyway) - I counted 43 pairs of trousers. I have no intention EVER to have as many again! And don't start me on tops and jumpers! :rotfl: :o

My best one is a tip from my late father...if you want or think you need to buy something, check in the cupboards first. It's actually quite astonishing the number of times you'll find something you've forgotten about that will do the job as well or nearly as well, with no new financial outlay required.

  • I am currently up to page 103 of the original thread, it is taking some time to read through but I have picked up so many tips! A lot of people were talking about their OH's only liking Lynx and I just wanted to add in a little tip - my OH has been trying other antiperspirants as I have been picking them up in different places - first I got him two Boots own brand ones as they were on a 2for£x offer (but much cheaper than Lynx originally anyway!) and he said they were just as good, and now he is trying Wilkoinsons own antiperspirant which is 79p per bottle (can't remember if there was a 2for£x offer) and so far they are good too! Def worth giving a try as Lynx can be stupidly expensive :)

HI, I'm sure that I read somewhere that Axe, (available sometimes in Poundland) is the European name for Lynx. I'm not an expert in the different fragrances but you might like to give them a try... HTH :)

For those who don't like/want the skins of potatoes (I myself love them), there is no need to peel them before boiling. Peeling raw potatoes takes away some of the potato itself so you waste a bit. Instead, scrub them well, boil them in their skins and then the skins come off easily and neatly, but none of the flesh at all. There, nice smooth potatoes with no waste.

when I ran out of foundation recently, I found a sample of one in a magazine but the shade was too dark for me. I mixed it with some face cream (until I got the correct shade) and put in a small pot and used this for the next week.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Hi, yes I had read that but my OH complained that AXE is the old Lynx scents he didn't like, not the new ones. Typical! But the Wilkinson's own brand that he seems fine with are only 79p anyway, so 21p saving compared to Poundland :D Hopefully that will add up!

    Thank you
