  • I have Gas Central Heating and have to heat the water before a shower etc. I used to have the timer set to come on twice a day but I NEVER used all the hot water.
So now I keep an old mobile phone in the airing cupboard and when I go in there to turn the hot water on I set a timer on the phone so it rings when the time's up and the water's hot. 10mins is plenty for a shower and some washing-up after. I never forget about it now and I'm looking forward to getting my gas bill to see how much I've saved :)

Try hardware stores, Wilkinsons, Semi-Chem, Local Chemists (the larger ones). What used to be our old 'More' store they stock it. Do you have anything like that near you?

Try Home Bargains or Yorkshire Trading Company if you have them near you.

Here's a tip which we aircraft modellers use that you can also use to stop brasses ect getting tarnished.Simply dip the brass ect in Johnsons Kleer (Future) floor polish & place on a old newspaper & leave to dry over night. The floor polish will cure & seal the metal, preventing oxidisation (rust)
